The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of regular exercise on the inflammatory biomarkers in serum, as well as on the markers of oxidative stress and inflammation. The study was conducted in four groups: a group that exercised regularly (N=18), a group that did not exercise regularly (N=18), a group that did not receive any treatment (N=18) and a control group (N=18). The participants were healthy adults aged 18–30 years old. All participants were excluded from further participation after completing all the baseline measurements. Blood samples were taken at baseline and at 3 and 6 months after starting regular physical activity. Serum levels of total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoproteins (HDL-C) and C-reactive protein levels were measured before starting regular physical activity; 3 months after starting regular physical activity; 6 months after starting regular physical activity.
